Aaaah, don't know what to say about this one here. I am tempted to upload this entire scene at once but I must save my buffer ...

He had no sympathy points from me. #Jerk. I don't think the king knows when to stop.

Art: The artwork is beautiful. I'm speechless with each page.

Characters: Since we're all debating the king (or baron?), I'll throw in my two cents. To me, I would have assumed that his obsession with the evilness of dragons stemmed from a national opinion (in the sense of "Bears/Tigers/Lions/etc. are dangerous and will eat you, so don't go near them!"), but his repetitive near vitriolic stance on them leads me to the conclusion that he lost someone dear to a dragon (in reality or reported so), leading to anger that he hasn't let go. This is then fueled by the fact that, well, he's also a very (or over-)protective parent whose child is in danger (perceived or otherwise), as he pointed out earlier. What parent wouldn't act desperately to save their child?

So... are his actions a little grating? Yeah. But are his actions understandable and expected? Absolutely. I don't think that such a character could be written differently and still demonstrate the same depth of emotions.

This is contrasted, of course, with the knight, who, being childless, comes only from the direction that dragons, like many wild animals, are dangerous when provoked, not otherwise, and aren't usually the type to carry off maidens (although I love your use of that medieval trope!). He sees also a child running away from a smothering parent and seems to sympathize with her, but this might be his potential preference for dragons over people shining through.

I singularized 'parent' because the mother doesn't seem as concerned. I wonder if she's been encouraging the daughter or already knew where she was...

Anyway, that's how I read these characters so far. We'll see how close I am as the story progresses. Fantastic job so far~

@Spirit Seer: That was more like your $2 instead of cents. :) I totally agree. The reactions are believable and humanistic. The story is well written and characters pleasing to read about. The King/Baron is an intriguing character indeed.

@Spirit Seer: and ... I'm rather speechless with this analytical comment. I mean, you're pretty spot on with most of this. xD Which is rather amazing, since I haven't really explained anything in detail ... and probably never will because that's not really how I write things. Anyway, thanks. :) I love reading peoples interpretations of my characters.
